What is The Festival of Voices?

The Festival of Voices is the Foundation's annual fundraising and outreach event. The theme for the 2024 is "Seeds of Hope". Starting on Monday, October 28th (the anniversary of the launch of Technoblade's YouTube channel) the Foundation will hold two weeks of online community outreach and education events. The Festival events culminate on Saturday, November 9th with a competitive Minecraft fundraising event called "Claim the Crown" which will be livestreamed by over 40 participants on both Twitch and YouTube to viewers worldwide. All proceeds from the fundraising event will fund the Potato Seeds micro-grant pilot program. 2023 Festival of Voices: Week of Community

In 2023, in order to celebrate Alex's 24th birthday (June 1), to bring his community together, and to raise money for the Foundation, the One of Us Global Foundation presented its first Festival of Voices, an annual fundraiser bringing together many of Alex's fellow creators and fans in a huge online festival and celebration. This inaugural event, subtitled “Week of Community” raised over $100,000 from several thousand generous donors worldwide.

The funds raised have been used to support the development of the One of Us infrastructure and programs, including:

  • Creating and resourcing a special Youth Advisory Committee to help determine priorities and ensure that youth and young adults are at the heart of our planning and decision-making

  • Developing and implementing a special training and team-building curriculum for our Youth Advisors, Board Advisors and Social Impact Team, to clarify our values and operating principles, and ensure everyone has the resources and tools to participate authentically

  • Funding a cohort of ten young people to participate in the national Radical Transformational Leadership training cohort

  • Developing the timeline and implementation plan for our upcoming program, Potato Seeds, which provides mentorship and grants to support youth creating positive change in their communities.
